1. In April 1988, the Environmental Protection Department of Shenzhen Government approved to set up Shenzhen Industrial Waste Treatment Station in its document of Shenzhen Workout Office Shen Bian [1998] No.61 Approval Document with the enterprise management of the institution.

2. In 1988, the station developed the Craftwork Technology of Copper Etching Waste Liquid to Produce Industrial copper sulphate . The technology was listed as one of the promotion plan of the national achievements of science and technology in 1990 and was granted the Prize II of the Advance of Science and Technology by the State Environment Protection Administration of P.R. China and Prize III of the Advance of Science and Technology by Shenzhen Government.

3. In March 1991, Qu Geping, Director of the State Environment Protection Administration of P.R. China, inspected the SHWTS and offered his epigraph as Transform the corruptibles into the mysterious Life

4. In 1993, Shenzhen Hazardous and Waste Secure Landfill Unit was commenced to construct, this is the first secure Landfill Unit of hazardous wastes built up at home with the international standards of technologies.

5. In 1996, the SHWTS developed the Recycling and Reusing Technology of the ammonia etched board produced by the printed board industry via the neutralization and sedimentation in the acidic copper chloride etched waste liquid . The said technology won the Best Technology for Promotion of Guangdong Province in 1997 and Prize III of the Advance of Science and Technology by Shenzhen Government in 1998.

6. In 1997, the station developed the Technology to recycle and reuse plumbum dusts produced by the glass envelope factory to produce tribasic lead sulfate . The technology has been accepted as the national patent and was elected as one of the major promotion projects of scientific achievements in Shenzhen in 1998.

7. In June 1999, the SHWTS was elected as one of the first group of organizations with the operating competency for environmental productive facilities of the state.

8. In December 1999, the SHWTS passed the certification and auditing of ISO14000 Environmental Management System and got the first ISO14000 Credential of Certification among the waste disposal enterprises.

9. In January 2001, the major construction engineering in Shenzhen—Phase II Project for Shenzhen Industrial Waste Pretreatment Base and secure landfill unit was commenced to construct with the gross investment of RMB187,730,000 and the annual hazardous wastes disposal capacity of 60,000-80,000 tons after being completed.

10. In 2001, the SHWTS was granted the Class-Two Certificate as the competence for the engineering design and environmental engineering reconnaissance of the state.

11. In June 2001, the state leaders including Wang Wenyuan, vice chairman of the National Politic Consultative Committee, Zou Jiahua, vice national premier, and so on inspected the SHWTS successively.

12. In June 2001, Song Ruixiang, vice director of China Environmental Protection Bureau, inspected this SHWTS .

13. In July 2001, the Phase II Engineering of Shenzhen Industrial Waste Pretreatment Base and secure landfill unit was commenced.

14. In July 2001, Shenzhen Organization Establishment Commission issued the Shen Bian Ban [2001] No.33 document, approving Shenzhen Industrial Waste Treatment Station to change its name into SHWTS .

15. In August 2001, Shajing Scientific Research and Experimentation Base under SHWTS was inaugurated.

16. In July 2002, Wang Xinfang, vice director of China Environmental Protection Bureau, inspected the SHWTS .

17. In July 2002, the Working Conference for the Concentrative Disposal of Medical Wastes in the whole city resolved that the SHWTS should take responsible for the concentrative collection, transport and disposal of the medical wastes. In August 2003, the work of concentrative collection and transport of the medical wastes started formally. In July 2003, this station was elected as the Advanced Unit Fighting Against SARS of Shenzhen City.

18. In November 2003, the SHWTS was recognized as one of the Hi-Tech enterprises in Shenzhen..

19. In February 2005,awarded the “ Cleaning Production enterprise of Guangdong Province ” by Guangdong Economic and Trade Committee, Guangdong Science and Technology Office and Guangdong EPB.
